Stronger – Mens Conference

‘Stronger’ is our one day conference for any man aged 16 or over. It’s organised by the men’s ministry team at New Life, but is open to men of any church, or those who are not part of a church.

Throughout the day we will be exploring how we can be stronger men of God in every area of our lives. There will be main sessions for everyone where we will unpack the theme and also breakout sessions where we will explore specific areas where we can be stronger as men including marriage, family, our finances, well-being and the workplace. There will also be times to worship and pray together as well as break times where you can connect with other men.

We’re delighted to have two great speakers joining us for the day:

Freddie Roberson who is the leader of Christians in Action Church in Croydon and Gerrit Bantjes from Care for the Family.

Freddie is originally from California but came to Thornton Heath as a missionary back in 1980 shortly after marrying Wanda. He leads Christians in Action church in Addiscombe and also travels to the USA and other countries preaching and teaching. He has also established a highly successful basketball ministry. He’s married to Wanda and they have two adult married children and five grandchildren. He’s also been friends with us at New Life for many years.

Gerrit Bantjes is South African by birth. Gerrit became a fitness coach at Cardiff Rugby Club after playing first class rugby in South Africa and Wales. He served in two armies and passed the gruelling British Army Pre-Parachute Selection Course, P-Company, at the age of forty. Married to a Welsh girl, he has lived in Cardiff for twenty-five years. As a men’s ministry leader he often volunteers for Care for the Family, speaking all over the UK.

As we will be providing refreshments throughout the day, including a hot lunch, we’re asking everyone attending to pay £5 to help cover the costs.
