Sunday Services: What to Expect
The big weekly gathering of our church is our Sunday morning service starting at 10am, but you’re welcome to come earlier from 9:30am for tea, coffee, cake and a chat.
Our services can get very busy so we’d encourage you to arrive in good time in order to get a seat and, if needed, a parking space (details on getting here and parking).
Our service can vary from week to week, although we normally start our service with an extended time of sung-worship where our desire is to simply praise and worship God through singing together. We might also read from the Bible together, and then move into a time of prayer, or hear some updates of what’s happening in the life of the church.
At some point our kids and youth will be sent out to their meetings. We normally have over 120 under 18s joining us and the rooms they use vary from week to week, so follow the signs or ask a steward if you’re unsure of where to go. If you are a parent/carer attending for the first time, you’ll need to register your child in their group before dropping them off.
We’ll then have a talk from the bible which can last anything from 30-50 minutes. This might lead on to a time of reflection, prayer or worship, and we regular invite people forward to receive prayer if desired.
If it’s your first time joining us, we’d encourage you to come to our welcome area at the front to have a chat with our team and find out more – we’d love to say hello!
Do you have programmes for kids and youth?
Do you have communion?
Yes we do share in communion on certain Sundays. On the Sundays that we have communion, you will find an individual communion pack on your seat.
Can I receive prayer from an elder (leader)?
If you are attending the in-person services please speak to one of the elders or pastoral team at the service. If you are unable to attend the in-person services, and would like prayer or support, please email Kofi at kofi.sunu@newlifecroydon.co.uk or leave a message on 020 680 7671 ext 339 and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Do you have wheelchair access?
Our main hall is accessible for wheelchairs via our car park entrance and we have an accessible toilet. Other parts of the building can be a bit trickier to navigate, but we will however assist in anyway we can to make things as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your visit to us, please email us at hello@newlifecroydon.co.uk or give us a call on 020 8680 7671 and we will be happy to speak to you.
Do you have any provision for the deaf and hard-of-hearing?
We have a great team of signers who provide BSL interpretation at our Sunday morning services. Please make yourself known to a steward who can show you where to sit so you can see the signer clearly. BSL interpretation is also available on the majority of our live-streamed services.
We also have an excellent assistive hearing loop system available. Just switch your hearing aid to the ‘T’ setting and ensure you sit downstairs in the central block.
Dedications
We have a number of special ‘Dedication Sundays’ during the year where we pray for babies/young children.
If you would like your child to be dedicated, please fill out the form below and we will be in touch.
Baptisms
Baptism is an important step of obedience in our Christian lives, and we would therefore challenge every believer who has not been baptised, to get baptised as soon as they are able to. We have regular baptism services throughout the year, if you’d like to get baptised, please fill in the form below.
Prayer Requests & Testimony
We love to hear what God has done amongst us and also want to pray for any needs in our church family. Click below to share with us, in as much or as little detail as you choose.
Songs we Love
We’ve compiled both a Spotify and YouTube playlist of songs we love to sing at our services at New Life. Enjoy 8 hours of beautiful worship music which we hope will help you focus your heart on our wonderful God.
