Dear New Life Family
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea…..” Psalm 46:1-2
As we enter this unprecedented period, we want to remind you of this amazing promise from God’s word. In times of trouble, we don’t need to be afraid, because our confidence and trust is in God who is our refuge and strength. He is with us, and he will bring us through!
Since we contacted everyone last week, things have escalated dramatically in our nation, and as elders we have been prayerfully considering our response to the latest government advice. We are not driven by fear, but we do want to be wise and do all we can to protect everyone from potential harm.
We have therefore made some significant decisions which will impact everyone who is a part of the New Life Family:
- We will not be meeting on a Sunday at the centre until further notice. Instead, we are looking at ways in which we can hold some kind of online service. Details of how and when we do this are still being worked out but we will keep you updated.
- All other meetings and activities which take place at the centre, will stop with immediate effect.
- Pre-school will be closed from the end of Friday 20 March.
- We are also advising Connect groups, including those meeting in people’s homes not to meet at this time too.
Even though we may not be able to meet together physically during this period, we will be introducing ways to help us stay connected. We are also putting into place an action plan to ensure that our elderly and vulnerable members who need to stay in their homes are looked after and supported.
You will appreciate that this is fast developing and changing situation, so we will be regularly reviewing developments and communicating any changes to you.
We plan to communicate with everyone again before the weekend with more information.
Please continue to pray for New Life at this time, and especially those who may be feeling isolated and afraid.
God bless you
The Elders of New Life
